SELF-CONTROL

Anger is a very normal emotion that human mind experiences and can not be avoided until it practices mindfulness and meditation. The negative thought patterns and accumulation of unnecessary thoughts produced by our unconscious mind is the reason why we become angry in unfavourable situations. But, as it is normal it can be very well controlled. Controlling anger is a crucial skill that is very beneficial in maintaining good relationships, mental well being and overall quality of life. We are going to discuss how beneficial it is to control the anger and the ways by how we can practice and master this self-control.

ADVANTAGES

1. A good life

Anger may not seem bad when it satisfies your ego, but when this emotion is felt chronically, its effects are very dangerous and it can ruin your life. It is totally unconscious and do not represent you, it only represents your ego, which is a separate thing from you but not you. So controlling it is what makes your life better in many ways. It maintains your mental and physical health in a good condition. But how? When you are angry you loose your control which stimulates your mind to release stress hormones which affects you in a long way. It also increases your heart rate and stop your consciousness due to which you become less capable of taking right decisions in your life and current situation. Apart from health and decision making power, anger affects you in many ways which can be avoided by controlling it with the help of several practices. By doing so, you are enhancing the overall quality of your life.

2. Communication

You often speak those words, in anger, which you never want to speak if you are conscious and know the consequences. This depreciates the merit of your communication, which further affects relationships. In business it becomes the main reason of failures of some important deals. So, why to wait to see all of these things to happen, take action now and practice self control. If your mind is in a controlled way, it is conscious and very well knows what to speak and what to not. It not only makes you a good speaker, but also a good listener which in turn helps you become a better speaker. If this all goes well, it increases the profoundness of the bond of your relationships.

PRACTICES

1. Meditation

It is the ultimate practice to become mindful of your surroundings and know things. The ways can be different but the result is always the same. Ways are different because different cultures practice in their own unique way which have been developed by some great human beings. But, as i told that the result will always be the same. The overall idea of meditation is that you have to focus on the present clock time by refusing to live in psychological time, past and future, which exists in your unconscious mind.

2. Grab the opportunity

Many times you might have heard that every failure teaches you a lesson, learn from failures and so on. Just like that, you need to learn from your own anger. As soon as your unconscious mind produces this emotion, take it as an opportunity. Start observing the pattern of your thoughts and you will find that you never want these unnecessary thoughts. Then stop for a moment and close your eyes and ask your mind what is your next thought. Did you just do that? Then you have noticed that mind is not capable of thinking in this way as you are consciously present in the moment. As soon as you become so present your unconscious mind starts fading away. It, then, takes anger and negative thoughts with it making you relaxed and focused.

3. Comparison

In anger, your ego lets you think that you are the supreme. It does so because it does not want to die. It wants to live with you. It knows you very well. That is why it takes the benefits of fooling you by letting you think above of everything. You then start following it and wants to win in all the arguments. However, you can always take a step back and stop it to take any action. How can you do that? The first step is to stay quite for a moment. Then compare yourself to this world and imagine how many similar and even worse incidents are taking place at the same time.. By doing so, you are realising how tiny you are in front of this universe and your issues are not even the issues. Instead of finding solutions you will realise that you do not even have a problem. It is not easy though. It takes many years to become fully conscious. But every great thing has a small beginning. So start practicing these ways to master the self-control and follow the path of becoming consciously present.

Apart from meditation, grabbing the right opportunity and comparing yourself to this universe there are more ways that you can practice. These are one of the basics and important that i have mentioned in this article, you can always access to many more. So, you can see how beneficial it can be to control your anger and improve the overall quality of your life in many aspects.

Master the self-control and become consciously present.
