SEX EDUCATION

The fact that there are naked statues of people on the outside walls of Khajuharo temples is the evidence of how great and modern our ancestors were if we talk about sex. Osho writes in one of his books, “ we can imagine how great those people were who made those naked statues, their main was that when people enter in that temple have to go around it and watch all the naked people by full attention, then meditate and when their consciousness is above the sex, they can enter the temple where god is waiting for them.

After watching OMG-2, reading one of the Osho books and seeing naked statues in temples it is very clear that India is lacking in sex education. Not only India, there are many more countries that are not upto the expectations if we talk about sex education.

Even i remember sitting in biology class when our biology teacher told us to read the chapter ourselves and ask doubts if any, the particular chapter was all about the reproductive system of human beings. That chapter was only about a joke to talk about. Boys look towards girls and girls look towards boys and laugh about this chapter.

Even a chapter in science book was taken a bad thing to be taught. After doing masters in biology, if a teacher is not having guts to teach 8th standard students about the reproductive system openly in class, where it is the most required, then there is no benefit doing that master and taking salary.

It is been more than 10 years since i was in that class, it simply means that more than 10 classes or say thousands of students have gone through the same loss. There may be teachers who openly talk about sex in his classes, but most of them don’t hesitate to do that because it has become a trend to tell students to either skip that chapter or read that themselves. The students who can easily get the access to the knowledge of sex in 8th class have to suffer even after college. They need to go to google and search to clear their doubts about sex, masturbation, sexual diseases and many more. And there is no guarantee that he will get the right information or not because the information that is shared on internet is done by the same people who are searching for that knowledge.

I am not going to talk about how open sex should be or how proudly it should be taught in schools or at home, rather I would like to talk about the issue that is there in our society. How many people have watched OMG-2? So many lacs of people have watched this, but they still do not take it seriously. People buy tickets, go to theatres and laugh on the ironic jokes that have been scripted in this movie. They do not give a damn in understanding the issue at-least for themselves. I know, things are not that easy that they can be known or understood just by simply watching a movie, but it can at least ignite people to search for more, which have been shown in the movie. If they only get the whole idea for themselves, it can bring changes in society. People tend to read more about sex, which was used to be taught in gurukuls in India.

The thing that is made hidden or believed to be sin in society creates more curiosity and excitements for people. They are told to avoid such things, whereas in real it happens to be the opposite. They hide it from the front but want to know it from the back which makes no sense. And, the thing that is open in society has no issues at all. So, we all need to realise that things should be made clear since our childhood instead of hiding them. When we know that something is good or bad, the chances of the burst of our energy in the wrong direction decrease.

The lack of sex education is one of the biggest reasons of the gender gap in this world. If we are aware that sex is the only process of creating this world, we will never take it as a sin or a private thing, because it is also written in out religious and spiritual texts that when a man makes love with woman, it creates a new life which is best creation of nature, so how can this thing be taken as a bad thing.

Therefore, the knowledge of sex is very necessary for all. This can help reduce the gender gap and the crime rates on the basis of sex.

It is not a sin, it is the root of the world’s creation.

Society need awareness not only to reduce crime rate or to maintain gender equality but I think it is immensely required to know himself or one's biological structure.
And as u have mentioned about our ancient sculptures I think their is slight progress in thinking of society. haan aise hi hum 140 billion toh ho nhi gye.
Kudos to u for bringing such topics in public domain because generally we refrain from doing so.
