Every other quality to become a better human being can be brought by adapting these habits in your routine.

Reading is the one thing that has no replacements to gain the same benefits and knowledge to become a civilised person. Reading is a major thing that you need to do in order to educate yourself upto the level which does not have any limits. Why is it so important? It is very simple and not a big deal to understand its importance. A book is not just pages and words on them, rather it is a collection of thoughts which came into existence after suffering and gaining the life long experience by the author. And, if you read them, it will not only let you know different perspectives and gain knowledge on a particular topic, but it also makes you a great personality who has his own perspective which people listen and follow. Reading opens the gates for different paths allowing you to choose from one of them. It also brings opportunities to you by opening your thoughts in all the directions and fields. You become able to choose what you want to be and why you want to be that. 

2. Writing Habit

By reading things you can have great ideas, thoughts and plans, but to execute them you need to write them, which is again a great habit that you should adapt in your daily routine. Many times it happens that you have a lot of tasks, daily targets, to be done till the end of the day, and you fail in doing that because you can not keep all the things in your mind. There has to be something that you tend to forget. So it is better to write your daily targets and complete them one by one marking a tick after completion. 

It helps you share your thoughts if no one is there to listen to you. By writing your thoughts you open yourself to all the situations which you are facing. It makes you a strong person because whenever there are pitfalls, you know how to tackle them and learn from them as you can refer your last writings where you would find the solutions of how you got rid of the last situation. It is a habit which's importance is underestimated by people as they can not see its effects in short term and people want benefits as early they can be. But listening habit shows its effects in long term and they are so tremendous that you can not even imagine. It is again like the reading habit. There,  you read people and here you listen to them. Listening let you hear the experience and thoughts of a great man which may not be found written anywhere. That great man can be your parents, grandparents, teachers, friends or any great speaker. By listening to them you enhance your capabilities to find solutions of your problems and take decisions of your life on your own.  

Apart from this, it helps you maintain a good relationship with your friends and family. Because if you listen, you know their issues instead of yours which make you concerned about them. And concerning about your partner or friend is the only thing that he or she needs to feel special and happy with you. So, listen more and speak less.
