THE CONCEPT OF MICROMANAGEMENT: A WAY OF LIFE

Do you still not have time for yourself after working for 9-10 hours only? I know this much working time count a lot in a day and you are left with very less time. However, you still have 5-6 hours which you can utilise in whatever way you want.

We keep talking about time management and its benefits but very few people are able to make a good time table and then follow it. Because they are able to manage every small thing in their daily routine. Now, this is called micromanagement. But why can’t everyone do it. Because we see things in an areal view, in which they seem very small and we make plans in our mind to complete them one by one without allotting them the proper time frame. We are definitely able to make a good map of time table, by areal view of things, where everything seems to be managed in a good manner but, unfortunately, only theoretically and not practically.

For instance, in those remaining 5-6 hours you need to do physical exercise, bring vegetables from the market, do some reading and also provide good quality time to your family. In the end, you are done with exercise, vegetables and reading too, but fail to provide time to your loved ones. Or, it may be other way also.

There are very less chances of you doing all your activities if you don’t manage them properly. So how can you do that? What are the ways and tricks?

Fixing exact timings for things

Though, there are no shortcuts for anything, yet there are good solutions for everything. To utilise your personal time effectively, one of the best ways you can follow is to fix time for everything. Such as, on Monday you don’t need to think what should i eat today, or when to go to market and do some shopping, or when can i not go to gym and take rest at home spending time with family.

See, if you have fixed time for all of your routine activities, it will be very easy for you to follow them as easy way is always the right way. If you have made a list of breakfast meals day wise, then you just follow the same without much thinking. If you have fixed that you go to the market only on weekends, you have saved a lot of time on weekdays for yourself. If you have fixed the exact timing for reading; after dinner, then it has, now, become very easy for you as you don’t need to take out any extra time. Just after dinner, you pick up your book and start reading. Like that, one by one, at the end of the day you are done with all of your activities within those 5-6 hours.

Seeking the opportunities

Even after fixing exact timings for every one thing you still may face difficulties following your routine because everyone has different scenarios at home. Some may have small kids, some may have to take care of their old age parents, on some days you may have to go to parties, functions or any such thing, on some days you may fall sick or your loved ones may fall sick and you may have to take care of them, so, given that all of these situations may happen to anyone, you may fail to follow your routine. During these situations, where fixed exact times don’t give you the right time, you need to seek the opportunity whenever you find it.

Like, you know after dinner you wouldn’t have time for reading but after gym you are left with 15-20 minutes, then you should definitely seem this opportunity and utilise these valuable minutes for your reading. It is also true that on some days you would skip some activities, but those days are going to be very few and don’t disturb your consistency, given that you are following your writings properly.

The major factor

Good habits take more time to be adapted than bad habits. The reason for this is the reward that you get by following either of them. Bad habits give instant rewards which is why people adapt them quickly, however, good habits take more time to give rewards, which is why people fail to adapt them. And, this all happens because of lack of patience. People can’t wait to see some results. They want everything quickly. Right after the action. Like, cigarettes, alcohol etc. Whereas, habits like gym, reading take enough time to produce some valuable results. So, this factor should also be considered seriously.

Once you are at a point where you can see some rewards from good habits, it is now very difficult that you would leave that habit. It has now been added in your routine permanently just like bathing and brushing teeth. It is just the time length which is long, otherwise there is no obstruction in adapting these habits by doing micromanagement on ground level, not through the areal view.

So, learn the micromanagement and do make your life more worthy as you work hard to earn money, you have all the rights to live a better life without waiting for the retirement. Make it a habit and wait for some time until it starts giving you rewards.
